History of MCUDL

From MCUDL

Jump to: navigation, search

MCUDL in many ways is the cradle of Ultimate. In addition to being the First Summer League founded, the First College game was between Rutgers and Princeton, both of which call MCUDL their home Summer League. The first organized game was played at Columbia High School, which has long been a feeder of players into MCUDL for their summers.

MCUDL has been running since 1977, and there are now hundreds of similar leagues that have replicated our success across the world.

In the standings archive we are starting to reconstruct who did what on a given year and which team might have won, and who was the most spirited, but this section is more about anecdotes, history, and the Club Teams.

The Club Teams in the area are often comprised of the most skilled and dedicated League players, who want to see what they can do if they join forces. While many MCUDL players have played on teams from all around the region, there have been many Mercer County Based Teams. As the cradle of Ultimate, it is our duty that these stories should not be forgotten.
